In April, The Country Club at DC Ranch began a nearly $4M renovation project that includes the renovation of all green-side bunkers, the expansion and remodeling of the main clubhouse and the addition of a tennis clubhouse. According to COO and General Manager, Paul Skelton, the project is on schedule.

The project began in full force at the end of April when the south half of the clubhouse was closed on both floors. Employees moved from lower-level administrative offices to a mobile office at the north side of the parking lot. Reconstruction began in The ‘Horse Bar’, Living Room and Conservatory.
On June 2, the golf course closed for overseeding, summer maintenance and the renovation of 31 green-side bunkers. On July 4th the golf course reopened with a July 4th best ball tournament. The bunkers are fabulous!
While course reconstruction was underway, clubhouse demolition on the south side of the building was visible from the outside. For safety reasons we were unable to have a look at what was happening inside, yet we knew floors, walls and doors were being removed.
This past Sunday we had an inside tour of the clubhouse to see progress. There are only two pieces of the original Horse Bar mural remaining.
Interior finishes are being finalized for the new ‘Horse Bar’, wine room and dining areas. A new mural for the ‘Horse Bar’ is being commissioned. The bar will have a backlit wall with hand-tooled leather over the top with light flowing through. It will be framed in copper.
The wine room will be lined in brick with a contrasting grout for a rustic and warm effect. Exterior finishes and hardware will complement the existing surfaces.
The clubhouse project is scheduled to be completed for the club’s traditional opening party on November 7, 2014.
