Here’s another reason The Matheson Team loves DC Ranch: people who live here and people who run businesses here are always finding ways to help people in need. Grimaldi’s Pizzeria is giving $5 off your restaurant bill when you donate a toy to their “Toys for Tots” collection box by December 20th.
“Toy for Tots” is a program started by the United States Marine Corps Reserve division in 1947. Their mission is to provide Christmas presents for kids whose families cannot afford presents.
Toys for Tots drop-off at Grimaldi’s on Market Street
The Marine Reserves collect toys in October, November and December and distributes them in December and January every year. At “Toys for Tots,” 97% of all donations go toward gift giving; only 3% of the organization’s revenue go toward administrative expense.
Grimaldi’s was one of the first restaurants in Market Street at DC Ranch. It has been a popular local gathering place for families and parties in DC Ranch for more than 10 years.
The restaurant again has a Toys for Tots box and is encouraging people coming in for a bite to eat to bring an un-wrapped toy for donation. Patrons who do bring a toy will receive a $5 discount on their bill on that visit.
While there are several locations in the 85255 zip code where “Toys for Tots” can be donated, Grimaldi’s is the only store or restaurant that we know of that’s giving something back to you for helping kids in need.
