SASSI is inviting budding cooks to experience a culinary journey of Italy, right within their beautiful old world style restaurant. Their Summer 2014 Food & Wine Series provides the unique and intimate experience of preparing a variety of Italian dishes with one of the best chefs in Scottsdale.
Italian Food & Wine Class at Sassi
Starting on Wednesday, June 25th, Executive Chef Christopher Nicosia hosts an interactive demonstration of authentic Italian cooking. To complete your experience, several hand-selected wines will be paired with each evening’s featured dishes to complement the meal.
SASSI serves classical Italian cuisine that focuses on fresh and rustic Italian cooking and uses locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. Designed for home chefs of all skill levels, SASSI’s cooking class participants will learn recipes and enjoy a light, one-course meal featuring the food presented during the demonstration.
Each cooking class is $59 per person or $150 for all three, which includes service charges and sales tax. The evening includes 3 four-ounce glasses of wine paired with the meal. Wines will be available for purchase following each demonstration.
2014 Summer Food and Wine Series Schedule:
Wednesday June 25th will feature a list of basic Italian grocery items and some easy recipes for basic Italian dishes.
Wednesday July 9th will showcase SASSI’s Sicilian dishes such as Eggplant Caponata and Rigatoni alla Contadina.
Wednesday July 23rd will present classics of the rustic Calabria region. Recipes include Polpette alla Melanzane.
Three additional classes will be offered in August and September.
