The golf course at The Country Club at DC Ranch is closed during June for renovations and the course will reopen on July 4th, 2014. All other club facilities remain open (e.g. Fitness Center, Tennis, Pool, Grills, Golf Practice Facilities) for all members.
Appropriately enough, work began on the first hole with aerification of fairways and the rough. Yesterday, the sand and liners were removed on the left and back-right green-side bunkers on the first hole. According to Bill Kostes, Superintendent of Golf Course Maintenance, the sand removed from all the bunkers will be used to top-dress the fairways and rough. New sand and more durable liners will be laid.

According to The Country Club’s June 2014 newsletter the course renovation plan includes:
- All green-side course bunkers; adding then stabilizing new sand. This new sand is a 50/50 split between Arizona Pit and Augusta White sands.
- Fairway bunkers
- Modify drainage areas at the front of specific greens to better drain irrigation water
- The “aerifying, verticutting, and topdressing [of] all turf throughout the course”
- Input of new, more advanced irrigation controllers to more effectively use water
These projects are due to be completed, and the course re-opened, by July 4th. This means that the course will be in great shape for the Men’s Summer Member-Guest golf tournament on July 25-26.
