Don Ziebell, the founder of OZ Architects Inc., is the head designer for Silverleaf’s newest development: The Village at Silverleaf. The community will feature 20 southwest homes (10 Cottages and 10 Villas), and will have its own private courtyards, indoor and outdoor living spaces, and city light and golf course views.
Ziebell, who has completed a number of projects in Scottsdale and Paradise Valley with OZ, is a strong believer that inspiration can be drawn from traditional elements. He then reworks these elements to enhance and tweak traditional design to fit modern needs.
Oz Architects Inc. has been responsible for a number of building projects within the Silverleaf community. Not only did it work on The Stone House and The Silverleaf Club and Spa, but its also been involved in a number of Silverleaf’s custom builds (one of which was featured in Phoenix Home and Garden magazine in May 2014). They have a few other private residence builds in the works right now.
On top of elegant, sophisticated style, OZ focuses on sustainable green building practices. According to their website, OZ encourages clients to “consider the idea that their building be conceived and constructed to last 200 years”.
The quality of their work speaks for itself. Oz’s projects have been recognized for a number of awards since 1999 including 13 Gold Nugget awards (for community improvement) and 2 Valley Forward Association awards.
In terms of other Scottsdale projects, OZ is planning to build a three-story complex in the waterfront district. The ‘Waterfront Lofts’ will have 11 high-ceiling lofts and penthouses available for purchase. Highlights of the living space will include exposed brick, a combination of traditional and modern style and a rooftop pool.
