Whether you’re buying or selling your North Scottsdale home, the topic of equity is always important. More specifically, you want to know that your home will appreciate in value over time. That’s why the Battle of the Neighborhoods was created.
This contest looked at which North Scottsdale neighborhood is best when it comes to home equity, and it turns out the answer is DC Ranch. Silverleaf – which is also technically part of DC Ranch – was the runner up. So, whether you’re looking for a home that will increase in value in the future, or you’re already a proud resident of the DC Ranch area, this is an exciting result!
How the Battle of the Neighborhoods Works
The results of the Battle of the Neighborhoods were calculated using the percent by which the annual average sales price per square foot changed in 8 North Scottsdale communities from 2011 to 2015. Basically, the point was to see which neighborhood appreciated the most in four years.
Here’s the breakdown of how much each community appreciated over the years:
DC Ranch – 41%
Silverleaf – 38%
Grayhawk- 31%
Desert Mountain – 30%
Ancala – 20%
Desert Highland – 17%
Troon – 16%
Troon North – 14%
Why DC Ranch Homes Have Such Great Appreciation Rates
If you already live in DC Ranch, you’re probably not surprised by this win. This community has a lot of advantages, but some of the best are:
Convenient location: DC Ranch and Silverleaf are both about five minutes away from the Loop 101, which is one of the easiest ways to get around the Valley. Whether you’re going south to Tempe or Chandler or need to go west to Phoenix, you’ll need to use the 101 at some point, and you’ll be glad to have such easy access to it from your North Scottsdale home.
Lots of housing options: We have four villages in DC Ranch for buyers to choose from, and each has its own benefits. Whether you need 1,500 square feet of living space or more than 4,000, and whether you have a budget of $200,000 or more than $10 million, we’ve got you covered. Our housing types range from beautiful villas, condos, and townhomes to elegant custom houses. That’s probably why everyone- from growing families to retirees- loves living in DC Ranch.
Market Street, trails, and more: When you live in DC Ranch or Silverleaf, you’re close to plenty of local attractions. Market Street is right down the road and features a great mix of restaurants and shops, and there are nearly 50 neighborhood parks. Plus, you have access to two community centers, two private country clubs, some great local schools, and more than 30 miles of walking paths.
Is it any wonder that DC Ranch and Silverleaf fared so well in the Battle of the Neighborhoods?
