Have you noticed that most often when a home sells in the Monterey or Edmunds neighborhoods of DC Ranch’s Country Club Village, a dumpster shows up in front of the house? Why is it that so many homes are undergoing renovation once they change hands?
If you live in DC Ranch’s Country Club neighborhood, hopefully you see this as a really good trend. These buyers are investing in their new homes and creating value for themselves, which ultimately creates value for the neighborhood.
I can think of 3 reasons why there is such a high frequency of renovations taking place in the Country Club neighborhood at DC Ranch:
1) The popularly of home renovation and “home makeover” shows on TV today are causing people to be much more open to the idea of renovating. Those shows make renovating look easy, and really, if you have the right people involved, it IS easy. Now, more than ever, people are realizing this.
2) The DC Ranch buyer is looking for luxury, and luxury also means “current” and “up-to-date” when you are talking about interior design. While the DC Ranch area has some of the newest homes in the city of Scottsdale, many of the original homes were built between 1999 and 2002. A lot has changed in terms of interior design since then.
3) The DC Ranch buyer has zeroed in on this neighborhood because of the excellent location and community amenities. They are willing to work with a home that doesn’t quite meet their needs in terms of interior design in order to be in the DC Ranch neighborhood. It goes to show you that location is everything, and the most important driver of a property’s value.
