Skies are blue, temperatures are cool and this year’s Tour de Scottsdale will feature over 2,000 bikers that will start and finish on Market Street in DC Ranch.
There are two courses with the 30-milers making their way through beautiful North Scottsdale and the 70-milers winding their way around the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, which at completion will be the nation’s largest urban land preserve. Start time is 6:30 a.m. for all bikers with start corrals to help facilitate a more efficient and safer start for all participants.
If you are a sleepy head and don’t make it out in time to see the start, no worries, there will be plenty of time to get to Market Street to cheer the riders on while they across the finish line! There is a 4 hour time limit for the 30-mile course and 5 hour time limit for the 70-mile Tour de Scottsdale course, so plan accordingly.
While you wait why not enjoy breakfast or lunch at one of the many dining spots on Market Street, enjoy the event vendors or shop the local retailers.
This cycling event is an opportunity for the community to come together to raise funds for the non-profit McDowell Sonoran Conservancy which founded in 1991 serves as stewards of the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. We want to see you there but if you can’t make it, you can still track your athlete live and receive real time messages through Facebook, Twitter or on your cell phone as your designated athlete makes their way through their course.
And you most definitely will want to check back here for post race final results and rankings of all the athletes.
