The weather in Scottsdale has been beautiful lately, thanks to the perfect temperatures that come with fall. This means it’s the perfect time to head outside and walk or ride a bike to a nearby park. If you’re not sure where to go, here’s a look at some of the best parks in and around the DC Ranch community.
Market Street Park
Market Street Park is one of the main parks you’ll find in the DC Ranch area. This half acre park has everything you need for a perfect fall afternoon outside, including grills, a fire pit, a play area, water feature, and plenty of shade. No wonder so many local events are held at this DC Ranch park throughout the year!
Homestead Community Center
The Homestead Community Center is known throughout DC Ranch for its Homestead Playhouse community theatre, along with the many events that are held here every month. But there are also some outdoor elements that you can look forward to trying out this fall. For example, there are lighted basketball courts and a covered adventure playground, along with a large lawn that’s perfect for picnics and just relaxing while you enjoy the cooler weather.
Desert Camp Community Center
If you live in DC Ranch, you might have visited the Desert Camp Community Center for the pool during the summer. And since the pool is heated and open year round, you can still use it during the fall and even the winter. But there are also other fun features you can enjoy now that the weather is great. A playground, lighted tennis courts, pickleball courts, and basketball courts are other examples of what you’ll find in this DC Ranch park.
Neighborhood parks in DC Ranch
One of the many great amenities families love about DC Ranch is the presence of dozens of parks. In fact, DC Ranch is home to 47 parks of all sizes scattered throughout the various neighborhoods of the community. Some are large and some are small, but they all have lush grass, convenient benches, and plenty of shade for residents to enjoy. Some even have waterfalls, fire pits, and of course play structures for local children to climb. And all of the DC Ranch neighborhood parks connect to the paths and trails that wind around the neighborhood, making them easy to access on foot.
Horizon Park Community Center
This park isn’t in DC Ranch, but it’s a short ten-minute trip south down Thompson Peak Parkway. Located at 15444 N. 100th Street, this park is popular among Scottsdale residents because it has a mix of infant and child swings, as well as a couple of playgrounds for different age groups. You can play sand volleyball, basketball, or softball here, and there’s even a dog park, so bring your furry friends here this fall!
Thompson Peak Park
This is another park that’s just a few minutes away from DC Ranch, about ten minutes west at 20199 N. 78th Place. The 29-acre park is known for having lots of shade trees and space for playing softball, baseball, and basketball, in addition to a playground of course. It’s the perfect park to visit on the weekend or during fall break this year.
Access to dozens of great parks is only one reason residents love DC Ranch. If you don’t yet live in this community and want to learn more about it’s amenities, contact The Matheson Team today by calling 480-360-0281 or filling out our contact form below.
