Two free events at WestWorld are scheduled in September for the kids, round up the family and head out for a day of fun! WestWorld’s property line literally abuts some of the DC Ranch communities and is just minutes away from the rest. It’s astounding that many Scottsdale residents aren’t aware of WestWorld, which hosts the annual Barrett-Jackson car show, the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show and other high-profile events throughout the year.
As fall commences their calendar blows up with all types of activities and events designed for just about everyone’s taste in the household. In the month of September the kids can experience the circus or a learning and play festival. Adults can experience an elite athletic competition, a vintage market, that may be some of the original and best shopping in Scottsdale, and horse shows of all kinds.
The 2017 El Zaribah Shrine Circus has 7 different show times, September 8th at 6:30 pm; Saturday, September 9th at 11:00 am, 3:00 pm and 6:30 pm; and Sunday, September 10th at 11:00 am, 3:00 pm, 6:30 pm. Tickets range from $15 to $18 for adults and kids get in free with a printed coupon. Every kid that walks through the door gets one ticket and is entered into a raffle for either a boy’s or girl’s bike that is given away at EACH performance!
Looking for something a little more educational? Another family event is the Children’s Learning and Play Fesitval, a full day event on Saturday, September 9, from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. It’s free and features live music and performances, bouncy houses and rides, and interactive activities for toddlers, children and young adults.
For adults and aspiring young athletes, September 2nd, 3rd, and 4th will host the Legion of Beasts Games. Female and male athletes from around the world will take to the arena to compete in the pull-up ring, monster rope-climb, ring muscle up rig, rowers, Competition Olympic Plates and more. Doors open at 10:00 am so come out early to cheer on these competing world-class athletes.
Ladies you have waited six months for the Junk in the Trunk Vintage Market that will showcase their unique wares on September 16th and 17th. The market features 200+ vendors featuring antiques, one-of-a-kind items, crafts, artisan delights and some plain ole junk. Yes, it will cost you to get into this market and for a tad bit more you can get into the market an hour early to browse and be the early bird that gets the worm. Bring your spouse because they will enjoy live music, food trucks and can help carry your gems to the car!
In September WestWorld does what it does best by featuring nine different horse shows in its equestrian center. In the past few years they have hosted 90+ equestrian events with over 220,000+ attendees. This month you can pick from AZ Quarter Horse Show, American Saddlebred Association of AZ, 2017 All Breed Horse Show, Ponies of the Americas Horse Show, Ponies of the Americas Horse Show, Ponies of the Americas Horse Show, Arizona Fall Championships Horse Show, The Arabian Breeder Finals, and the Collman Equestrian Productions Hunt Cup. Each show has its own time, dates and entrance fees so just click on the show that is of interest and join the crowds that help keep the Old West alive here in Scottsdale!
