Summer camps in DC Ranch equate to summer fun! School is almost out and there’s a lot planned around the Desert Camp and Homestead Community Centers, but you must register soon! Whether your kiddo is an athlete, artist, actor or science whiz kid they’ll have a blast in and around DC Ranch this summer.
The Summer Solstice on June 21st officially ushers in summer but incredible summer camp programs begin as early as June 5th. The great news is these summer offerings are for DC Ranch residents and anyone else that is interested, so your kids can bring their friends!
Looking for a full-week summer camp? June takes center stage with two one-week theater camps. Week 1 gets the imagination, voice, body and bravado in shape through the exploration of the psyche with the theme Heroes and Villains. Week 2 finishes with a complete stage production of Gulliver’s Travels! The Missoula Children’s Theater will be on hand to help spin this heroic adventure through incredible costuming, professional stage sets and a whole lot of singing and dance!
Looking for a one-day summer camp in the month of June and July? June’s Science Fridays explore some really neat topics. The campers will get to experience the science of the ocean by crafting their own aquarium and further explore the chemical properties of water while they make some square bubbles.
We know summer camps can work up an appetite, as the kids will learn the chemistry of mom’s kitchen they will fill their tummy with yummy science experiments!
For the budding engineer in the home, sign them up for the Totally Toyriffic Become a Toy Technician day camp where simple engineering and mechanical principles will be learned while they tinker with their favorite toy.
Friday summer camps continue into July and they all take place on the field! Whether you have a soccer, T-Ball, dodgeball or basketball player in the house, get them out each Friday when the fundamentals that relate to increasing gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination, endurance and just plain getting into shape are explored.
Looking for pre-teen and teen summer camps? Hosted by notMYkid, is a workshops that focuses on the six pillars of character; trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring & citizenship will be explored and these programs build resiliency, confidence and character building.
Two separate one-week camps are scheduled in the month of June, Footprints for 9-12 year olds and Trailblazer for 13-15 year olds. It’s looking better with the kids out of the house all day, right? The best news? DC Ranch residents get 50% off the registration fee for the notMYkid workshops.
