Fall Break in the Scottsdale Unified School District will take place during the week of October 10th to October 14th. During this time, DC Ranch children will be out of school, and the community has a number of activities planned for both kids and adults. Here are the events taking place in DC Ranch during Fall Break.
Fall Break Camp
If you’re looking for something close to home to keep your school-age kids busy this Fall Break, take them to the Homestead Community Center Monday, Oct. 10th through Friday, Oct. 14th from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. That’s where they can spend their fall break playing games and completing science experiments revolving around space, matter, time, and inventions.
Children ages 7 to 14 years old can attend Fall Break camp in DC Ranch. The cost is $100 for residents, and $200 for non-residents. You can register here.
Kids Corral
For the kids who are too young for the fall break camp, there’s Kids Corral. This fun event is an interactive story time for kids between the ages of 1 and 5 years old. It focuses on stories about fall, including fall holidays like Halloween and Thanksgiving.
This Fall Break event in DC Ranch takes place on Thursday, Oct. 13th from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at the Desert Camp Community Center. The cost is $12 for 6 sessions that are held every other Thursday, or $5 to drop in to one session. You can register here for this event.
TGIF: Little Wranglers
Children between the ages of 4 and 7 years old have another DC Ranch event to consider during Fall Break, because Little Wranglers will take place on Friday, Oct. 14th from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm. During this event, participants will get to meet Spiderman and The Little Mermaid’s Ariel while playing games and listening to stories.
This event will be held at the Desert Camp Community Center. It costs $20 per child and you can register here.
TGIF: Tween Night
Older kids in DC Ranch can also enjoy a fun event on Friday, Oct. 14. From 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, kids between 8 and 12 years old are invited to spend the evening at TopGolf. Not only will they get two hours of time to play golf, but they’ll also get dinner and the chance to play some interactive video games.
Once you register and pay the $20 per child fee, you can drop your child off at the Desert Camp Community Center for an exciting evening to end Fall Break.
Grapenuts
On Wednesday, Oct. 12th, DC Ranch adults will get together for the next Grapenuts wine club meeting. This week’s theme is Italy, which means you can expect to taste a variety of Italian wines as Michael Cartwright, a Certified Specialist of Wine, teaches you a few facts about the wines made in the area.
DC Ranch residents ages 21 and up are welcome to attend the Grapenuts meeting. Just register here and then bring a bottle of Italian wine of your choice and a food item that will complement it well.
Food Truck Night
The whole family can take part in Food Truck Night. Just head to the DC Ranch’s Desert Camp Community Center on Thursday, Oct. 13th any time from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm so you can enjoy something different for dinner.
You can head to the Cold Beers and Cheeseburgers food truck for dinner and then walk over to the Hot Cookie Truck for dessert! No need to register for this event; just show up when you’re hungry that evening.
