DC Ranch has amenities to fulfill the needs of all residents, many within walking distance. Residents are treated to high-end and convenient access to grocery, dining, retail, business, medical and educational facilities all within the community. In company with the necessities of everyday life, DC Ranch provides incredible recreational and lifestyle venues including neighborhood trails, fitness clubs, spas, tennis, community centers, 47 community parks and 2 private country clubs.
Within each neighborhood there are scenic walking paths and trails that link the 47 community-maintained parks. The paths and trails also lead to the retail complexes within the neighborhood, Copper Ridge School, the community centers, both country clubs, and the hiking trails that are part of the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy and the Gateway Trailhead. There are nearly 33 miles of trails throughout the community for resident use. The paths and walking trails were designed so that no resident would have to cross a street busier than the street in front of their home to get anywhere in the neighborhood.
Every neighborhood has at least one community park and each park has it’s own unique characteristics. All are designed in keeping with the natural landscaping, and shaded sitting areas were designed to take advantage of scenic vistas.
The Desert Camp Community Center, located at the southeast corner of Thompson Peak Parkway and Desert Camp Drive, is an 8,000 square-foot complex sitting on 9 acres. It is a wonderful year-round facility for DC Ranch residents. It is open daily from 6:00 am-10:00 pm during the summer and 7:00 am-9:00 pm during the winter. There are two tennis courts, available by reservation, a heated lap pool, a wading pool for toddlers, a fitness center, locker rooms, playground, sport courts and a full complement of special events to suit the whole family. The facilities can be reserved for private events.
The Homestead Community Center, located on Legacy Boulevard just west of Thompson Peak Parkway serves as host to a variety of community events such as the Farmer’s Market, Dog Days, and Community Meetings. Residents may reserve the center for private events. The Homestead is home to The Playhouse community theatre (launched in 2006), and offers basketball courts and an Adventure Playground.
There are two beautiful private country clubs in DC Ranch – The Country Club at DC Ranch and Silverleaf Club. Membership is through an application and approval process and anyone (not just neighborhood residents) may apply for membership.
Alongside the ease and convenience of these amenities, the security amenities in DC Ranch ensure the peace of mind of its residents. In addition to gated and guard-gated neighborhoods, micro-chipped vehicle tags and roaming patrol, City Of Scottsdale police and fire stations are located within the development.
Every home in DC Ranch is just minutes away from fabulous hiking opportunities and sightseeing. The neighboring Gateway Trailhead, located in the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy, is an outdoor enthusiast’s dream-come-true, containing miles of trails with varying levels of difficulty. It is also suitable for little ones: the Bajada Nature Trail provides games and activities along the hike.
DC Ranch is located 3 miles from a major hospital: Scottsdale Healthcare Thompson Peak Hospital at the corner of Thompson Peak and Scottsdale Rd. Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix is just a 10-minute drive away. The Mayo Clinic, and Scottsdale Healthcare Shea Medical Center are also located in Scottsdale, both within 20 minutes of DC Ranch.
