When you’re selling your home in DC Ranch, first impressions are everything – and prospective buyers start forming an impression of your space before they walk through the front door. That means your curb appeal has to be on-point, and you can give yours a healthy boost by using the tips outlined in this guide.
3 Instant Curb Appeal Boosters You Can Use to Sell Your Home in DC Ranch
Check out these three instant curb appeal boosters that may help you sell your home faster (and for more money):
- Clean your garage door
- Kill all the weeds
- Scrub your windows, light fixtures and other glass items
Here’s a closer look at each.
Tip #1 for Boosting Curb Appeal: Clean Your Garage Door
Your garage door likely has a buildup of dust on it – nearly everyone’s does. That means it’s time to clean it up. Don’t use a power-washer, particularly if you have stucco siding; instead, use a regular hose and good, old-fashioned soap and water. You can use a push broom to get tough-to-reach spots; then, hose it all down and wash it with soap and water again. Make sure it’s completely clear of soap residue before you let it dry, or you’ll be out there scrubbing again before too long.
If your garage door has windows, clean those with your favorite brand of window cleaner after you’ve scrubbed and hosed the whole thing. You want them to sparkle, inside and out.

Tip #2 for Boosting Curb Appeal: Kill All the Weeds
Weeds are tricky in Arizona, because they’re not only prickly, but they’re tough to pull out of the ground. You may need to pour a saltwater solution (two parts boiling water, one part salt) over your weeds to kill them (and the seeds that are germinating in the ground). You can use as much saltwater as you need; it’s not going to harm the environment. Likewise, you can use white vinegar, apple cider vinegar or pickling vinegar – but beware: the vinegar you get at the supermarket isn’t tough enough for Arizona weeds. You need the kind of vinegar you get at a home improvement or gardening store; it needs to be at least 15 to 20 percent acetic acid to work.

Tip #3 for Boosting Curb Appeal: Scrub Your Windows, Light Fixtures and Other Glass Items
Your windows need to sparkle when buyers are coming to see your home, so make sure they’re spotless and streak-free (a tall order in Arizona’s dry climate). After you finish the windows, clean all your light fixtures. Make sure there are no cobwebs or spider webs, and that the glass on light fixtures is clean. You should also remove light covers to clear out dead bugs, sand and other debris. If there’s any other glass outside your home, clean it until it shines.
