If you’re a wine lover who lives in Scottsdale, you can start looking forward to June right now. That’s when Carlson Creek Vineyard will be opening a wine tasting room in Old Town! While it’s far from the only Scottsdale destination for wine aficionados, it’s a new addition that many locals will appreciate.
After all, the owner claims that the Willcox location of Carlson Creek Vineyard is popular with residents of Scottsdale and Paradise Valley, who frequently make the three-hour drive southeast to taste this vineyard’s wines. Now they will have a much closer option.
The tasting room will be located at 4142 North Marshall Way, near the intersection of Indian School Road and Goldwater Boulevard in Old Town Scottsdale. Once it opens in June, you can try out everything this vineyard has to offer, from Chardonnay and Riesling to Chenin Blanc and Sangiovese, and more!
This new tasting room will offer comfortable couches and bistro tables for you to relax at, or you can reserve the education room for a private wine tasting with your friends. The Old Town location will also have enough space to store all the bottles of wine, t-shirts, wine glasses, and other products for sale.
You can do more than spend a relaxing afternoon here tasting wine. You can also educate yourself on this popular drink by attending the seminars that will be hosted here a few times each week. You can learn several facts about wine from these seminars, including how to identify different wines just by their scent. The tasting room may even begin offering certification classes for anyone interested in learning more about the wine industry.
If you can’t wait until June to check out this tasting room, you can visit other options for wine drinkers in Scottsdale. For example, LDV Wine Gallery is just down the street at 6951 E. First St., though like Carlson Creek, its vineyard is located in Willcox. Open Wednesday through Sunday, this Scottsdale tasting room offers Grenache, Petite Sirah, Viognier, and Syrah wines. Sit down on the patio and enjoy appetizers and a glass of wine during a nice evening, or attend a Sip & Learn workshop.
Another winery that has vineyards in Willcox and a tasting room in Old Town Scottsdale is the Aridus Wine Company. When you head to the tasting room at 7173 E. Main St., you can try out some Chardonnay, Viognier, Malbec, and more any day of the week.
However, if you don’t want to leave DC Ranch while you enjoy a drink at a local wine bar, you can stick close to your house at The Living Room on Market Street. This is a great way to get out of the house and socialize with your neighbors without driving too far for that perfect glass of wine!
