Scottsdale Historical Museum
Covering everything Scottsdale from its inception to present-day, the Scottsdale Historical Museum is a great place to spend an afternoon. You’ll find a one-room schoolhouse as well as several other permanent exhibits, and there are monthly rotations of other exhibits, as well.
Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art
Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, or SMOCA, is dedicated to the preservation of modern and contemporary art, architecture and design. With several permanent exhibits and rotating exhibits, there’s always something to see at SMOCA. Admission is free on Thursdays.
Taliesin West was the winter home of architectural genius Frank Lloyd Wright, and it’s one of Scottsdale’s historic landmarks. You can visit the home on a tour and visit the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture (just call ahead to schedule your tours).

The Penske Racing Museum
The Penske Racing Museum in Scottsdale houses more than 50 years of history in racing. You’ll see cars, trophies and other memorabilia. The museum includes all Penske’s winning cars and hosts all the trophies it’s won over the years at the Turn 4 Café.
Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of the West
When you want to step into Western history, you can’t go wrong at Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of the West. With fixed exhibits and rotating exhibits, this museum covers everything on the art, history and traditions of the West. You’ll find interactive exhibits, films and so much more within its walls.
Ziegler Fiesta Bowl Museum
The Ziegler Fiesta Bowl Museum is the place to be for football aficionados and other sports fanatics. There are plenty of facts and history on the Fiesta Bowl, including information on some of the league’s most prominent players and a whole collection of trophies. The museum is only open Monday through Friday, but admission is free.
