1. 30th Annual Fiesta Septiembre
The 30th annual Fiesta Septiembre celebrates the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month and features mariachi music, a folklore ballet, a salsa contest and a book signing for Nuestras Memorias about pioneer Hispanic families in the area. Admission is $5 per adult. You can get more information here.
2. Full Moon Hiking and Astronomy Evenings at Pinnacle Peak
People over the age of 8 are welcome to Astronomy Evenings at Pinnacle Peak Park on Saturday, September 15. Arrive before 7 p.m. and register ahead of time (there’s no fee) to enjoy a quick talk about the solar system and galaxy, as well as viewing the moon, planets and star systems through a celestron telescope.
Take a guided walk with staff and volunteers at Pinnacle Peak Park to enjoy the full moon on Monday, September 24. You have to pre-register for the event, which starts at 6:30 p.m.

3. Free Movie Night at Goodyear Ballpark
Grab a blanket and some comfy portable chairs to watch Black Panther (rated PG-13) at Goodyear Ballpark on September 21, where admission is free and light snacks and beverages are available for purchase. The gates open at 6:30 p.m. and the movie starts at 7. Get more information here.
4. Arizona Restaurant Week
Dive into great dishes all over Scottsdale, Mesa, Phoenix and the surrounding communities between September 21 and September 30 for Arizona Restaurant Week. Check out a list of participating restaurants here.
5. Ballet Under the Stars
Ballet Arizona is putting on spectacular outdoor shows as part of this year’s Ballet Under the Stars, where admission is free for every 7 p.m. show. Here’s what’s on the schedule and where you can catch each performance:

- September 22: Fountain Park, Fountain Hills
- September 23: Steele Indian School Park, Phoenix
- September 28: Tempe Center for the Arts Amphitheater, Tempe

6. 9th Annual Brazilian Day Festival
The 9th annual Brazilian Day Festival in Scottsdale takes place on September 22 at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts. You can get your tickets here to enjoy several aspects of authentic Brazilian culture, including live bands, DJs, dancers, Capoeira performances, jiu-jitsu performances, film, food and shopping.
7. Rockin’ Taco Street Fest
Have as many tacos as you can handle at the Rockin’ Taco Street Fest on September 15. This festival, which takes place in Chandler, features a kids’ zone for little ones and plenty of live entertainment, including steel drums, ballet folklorico dancers, a DJ and reggae music.
