4 Ways to increase your curb appeal before you sell your home this fall

Before placing your home on the market, here are some helpful tips to improve your homes curb appeal:

1.Make your yard more appealing with fall flowers

Take advantage of the cooler weather by adding some festival fall flowers to your front yard. Try to stick to typical fall colors, such as yellow, red, and orange. Chrysanthemums and marigolds are some popular fall flowers that come in those shades. Keep in mind that you don’t necessarily have to plant them in your yard; you can put potted plants along your walkway or near your front door, adding a few pumpkins into the mix for a great fall look.

2.Decorate for fall

This is another instance in which pumpkins are perfectly appropriate. You can place real pumpkins by your front door, or you might opt for an ornamental version such as metal pumpkins. Either way, you can complement them with an elegant fall wreath on your door and a fall-themed welcome mat.

3.Keep the exterior clean

Removing the layer of dust and dirt that’s built up over the years can make your house look clean and new. This can be done with a simple garden hose or for a more powerful affect try a pressure washer.  The exterior paint on your home should look more vibrant than ever, giving the walls and door a newer, neater look. For an ever more noticeable improvement on your home this fall, be sure to spray off the screens and then polish the windows.

4.Update the paint on the outside of your house

Now that the exterior walls of your Scottsdale home no longer have a layer of dirt, you might start to notice that the paint is chipped or fading. If so, it’s time to touch up the color. At the very least, you might find that the front door and the trim of the house would look better with a fresh coat of paint. This is one task that’s pretty fast but makes a difference in the curb appeal of the home.

Luckily, the fall weather in Scottsdale is perfect for working outside on chores that will improve curb appeal. Whether you need some fall staging tips for your Scottsdale home or need to start looking for a new house, call The Matheson Team at 480-360-0281 or fill out the form below.
