September is almost here, and with it comes some fun DC Ranch events for our youngest local residents. Whether your child is in preschool or elementary school, there’s an event for him or her to attend this fall. Check out the events are coming up in for kids in DC Ranch.
TGIF: Little Wranglers PJ Movie Night
This fall DC Ranch event is for some of the littlest residents who might want a fun, relaxed night out. On Friday, September 9th, kids ages 4 to 7 will get to gather at the Desert Camp Community Center so they can watch a movie and eat pizza with other little DC Ranch residents from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
You can register your child for PJ Movie Night here for $20 each. Don’t forget to dress your child in pajamas and bring any comfort items – such as a pillow, blanket, or stuffed animal – that he or she would like to cuddle with at this evening event.
Kids Corral
Kids Corral is a new series geared toward children between ages 1 and 5, as well as their parents or caregivers. During this weekday morning playdate, storyteller Jan Sandwich will be leading activities and reading stories to the kids who attend.
This DC Ranch event will be held at the Desert Camp Community Center and will begin on September 15 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. It will then take place every other Thursday, with the second playdate being on September 29. There will be 6 sessions total, and each will have its own theme, such as a season or holiday. The price is $12 for all 6 sessions, or $5 to drop in to each session. You can register for the DC Ranch Kids Corral here.
Musical Theatre Dance
Older kids might enjoy the chance to learn how to dance as if they’re in a Broadway musical. Starting Thursday, September 22, kids ages 7 to 16 will learn choreography from musicals that include “Wicked,” “The Lion King,” and “Matilda.”
This class will be held at the Homestead Community Center and will last for 6 weeks, with the last class taking place on October 27. If your school-age child wants to participate in this fun and informative DC Ranch event, you can register here. Residents will pay $50 each, and non-residents cost $100 each.
Family Play Date – “Rock the Presidents”
On Saturday, September 24, your whole family can check out Rock the Presidents by Childsplay Theatre. This is a musical revue that uses all kinds of music to educate the audience about all 43 presidents the US has had so far.
The show will run from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the Homestead Community Center, and tickets will cost $5 each. Find out more about this DC Ranch event.
