If you’re looking to spend a fun afternoon at the ranch, you can check out the petting zoo, pan for gold, get lost in the hay maze, take a short train ride, or play some Western-themed games, all for $10 per person. If you only want a pumpkin, you can pick one out for $4 to $12.
If you’re looking for something Halloween-related for older children and adults, head to AZ Scream Park. It’s best for children over the age of 12, because it features four very scary haunted houses. AZ Scream Park is located just off the 101 at Pima and McDowell Roads, and it’s usually open on October evenings from Thursday through Sunday. You can go through two haunted houses for $23, or try out all four for $28.
If you’re tired of walking through pumpkin patches so your children can pick out the perfect pumpkin, it’s time to change it up. Dunkin’ for Pumpkins makes that easy, since it involves wading through water to grab your preferred pumpkin out of a pool. This event will be held on Saturday, October 24, from 1 to 3 pm at two different Scottsdale aquatic centers. One is the Eldorado Pool and the other is the McDowell Mountain Ranch Pool, minutes from the homes in DC Ranch. For $5, each child can choose a pumpkin from the pool and then decorate it for Halloween.
