1. Nightmare on Main – October 12, 2018
Head to Historic Downtown Mesa for a Friday Night Out featuring a costume contest at OneOhOne Gallery. The costume contest starts at 7:30 p.m. and entry is free.
Live entertainment, a fun agility course and even a dog wash make BARKtoberfest the must-do event of the month for pups. There will be costume contests and an adoption event, too. The whole event is family friendly and it’s always a lot of fun.
3. Halloween Spooktacular and Car Show – October 19, 2018
Head to a Halloween-themed car show where your little ones can trunk-or-treat while you all enjoy live music, games and a costume contest.
4. Halloween Harvest Festival at El Mirage – October 19, 2018
The Halloween Harvest Festival features a pumpkin patch and a spooky haunted house. There’s a costume contest for kids, and you can enjoy food trucks and purchase crafts and other items from local vendors.
5. Enchanted Pumpkin Garden in Carefree – October 19 to October 28, 2018
The town of Carefree’s third annual Enchanted Pumpkin Garden features pumpkin carving shows, costume contests for entire families and a pumpkin pie eating contest. There’s a corn maze and petting zoo, too.
6. Estrella Halloween Spooktacular – October 20
The Estrella Halloween Spooktacular at Estrella’s Nature Center features trick-or-treating, a ghost hunt night hike and plenty of music and dancing.
7. Goofy Ghost Walk – October 20, 2018
The Goofy Ghost Walk includes a costume contest and scary stories around the bonfire. Roast marshmallows and walk through the Usery Mountain Regional Park with Ghost Rangers.
8. Autumnfest Arts & Crafts Fair – October 20 and October 21, 2018
Check out the Autumnfest Arts & Crafts Fair in Anthem, which includes a carnival, pumpkin-picking and plenty of arts and crafts festival.
Kids aged 2 to 6 can join the costume parade at the Sam Garcia Western Avenue Library, trick-or-treat and hear age-appropriate spooky stories between 11:15 a.m. and noon on Thursday, October 25.
10. Sonoran Creepy Creatures – October 25, 2018
Head to the White Tank Branch Library Classroom, where your whole family can meet all the creepy crawlies that live in the Sonoran Desert.
11. Chandler Halloween Spooktacular – October 26
Chandler celebrates Halloween in style with pumpkin bowling, broom races and trick-or-treating. You can create arts and crafts, join a costume contest or join a number of other activities.
12. Monster Ball – October 26
Pizza, spooky snacks and lots of fun await your whole family at the Monster Ball in Anthem.
13. Creepy Candy Crawl – October 26
Dress up and join friends and neighbors at the Tempe Marketplace for the second annual Creepy Candy Crawl. There’s a costume contest, lots of photo booths and live entertainment.
14. Howl-O-Ween at the Phoenix Zoo – October 26 and October 27
Howl-O-Ween lets kids trick-or-treat through the zoo, as well as participate in the Zombie Rave dance party and listening to Twisted Fairy Tale stories.
Head to Pleasant Harbor at Lake Pleasant for trunk-or-treat sponsored by the AZ Rockabilly and Volkstock Car Clubs, then enjoy a family-friendly movie near the lake, get your photos taken with scary characters and pick a pumpkin from the patch.
16. Howling Night Run – October 27
Join a great walk or run in the dark (kind-of) in costume at the Howling Night Run. Bring a headlamp!
17. Creepy Candy Crawl (formerly Malloween) at Desert Ridge Marketplace – October 27
The Creepy Candy Crawl at Desert Ridge Marketplace, which used to be called Malloween, features plenty of fun. Costume contests, trick-or-treating at every store, and plenty of live music and other entertainment are in store.
18. Tempe’s Family Halloween Carnival – October 27
Join family and friends at Kiwanis Park in Tempe for the Family Halloween Carnival, where you’ll enjoy live entertainment, carnival games, a costume contest and more.
19. Scottsdale’s Fall Festival – October 27
Scottsdale’s always-popular annual fall festival features a haunted forest, live entertainment and more than 25 game booths, as well as an end-of-night fireworks show.
20. Boo Bash – October 29
Join the fun at Glendale’s Boo Bash, which takes place at the Foothills Branch Library. Games, crafts and fun are in store!
21. Trick-or-Treat Main Street in Mesa – October 31
Fun and safe trick-or-treating is on deck in downtown Mesa for this sixth-annual event. Pick up a trick-or-treat bag and a map at the beginning of the event, jump into the photo booth and have your faces painted (if they’re not already).
